Aila reached out to me in hopes of rebranding her image in order to break into the Copenhagen scene with photos that represented her boldness and a ode love note to the beautiful misfits.
Aila Gato's musical sound is heavily inspired by African rhythm with Arabic scales and RnB vocals. Recently Aila has begun to embrace her African culture, mythology, and history as many who are mixed in race find inspiration in the visual of the variations within their heritage.
This shoot was requested to bring together the creativity and diversity of some of my favorite women in Copenhagen.
The crazy, authentic and inspiring enigma that is our gender. Aila suffers from PTSD/Complex Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and advocates to use her art to heal through her years of trauma as a child and continue this journey in life with hopes to bring others strength, by letting them know they are not alone with their troubled emotions and haunted past.
